Explain breech terminology and identify questions for the clinical team.
120 minutes instruction + 40 minutes independent study.
Topics: Presentation types; how clinicians confirm position; version concepts; vaginal and cesarean pathways; expertise and access.
Assignment: Use a model and create a balanced question sheet.
Module 02PD5 M2 Consent and support
Adapt birth preparation to family priorities and local options.
120 minutes instruction + 40 minutes independent study.
Topics: Uncertainty; risk communication; emotional support; transfer and surgical preparation; no external or internal manipulation by doulas.
Assignment: Plan support for two different clinician-led birth pathways.
Module 03PD5 M3 Unexpected breech awareness
Recognize the need for immediate skilled assistance without teaching delivery maneuvers.
120 minutes instruction + 40 minutes independent study.
Topics: Emergency activation; role assignment; privacy; family communication; handoff; debrief.
Assignment: Timed call-and-support simulation.
Final assignment
The family requests a home exercise guaranteed to turn the baby and wants to cancel the specialist visit.
Materials and preparation
Digital course workbook, scenario pack and assignment templates; access to a device for reading and submitted work. Use fictional or de-identified examples. Faculty assign selected readings within the stated study hours.
