- Complete supervised learning, case assessments and an evidence portfolio.
Entry & readiness
Lactation for Doulas foundation; qualified supervision and verified practice are required for the complete pathway.
How learning works
Planned delivery combines sequenced instruction, guided independent study, applied assignments, case work and competency assessment, with verified practice where required. Online lessons are self-paced, with access opening on the date above. Live-session arrangements and practice requirements will be confirmed before paid enrollment opens.
Practice & application
10 additional directly supervised practice hours, following the 20-hour foundation. The complete sequence contains 75 instruction, 45 study and 30 practice hours; total workload is not the same as qualifying external lactation-education hours.
Completion requirements
Complete the foundational LF requirements and the extension’s counseling, case and portfolio assessments, with all practice verified. The complete pathway award is issued only after LF and LX evidence is accepted. Knowledge and performance standards follow the curriculum’s assessment rules.
Scope & credential clarity
This 55-hour extension brings the complete foundation-plus-extension sequence to 150 total hours. It is not an IBCLC-equivalent credential and does not establish IBCLC examination eligibility.
The Daisy Academy award reflects the Academy’s own competency requirements. It does not confer licensure or automatically establish external accreditation, insurance recognition or third-party certification.
